Tom Cain, MD

Tom Cain, MD

BOARD CHAIRMAN

Dr. Cain has been on the PHP Board of Directors since 2004. He is an internal medicine and geriatrics physician and has practiced at the Senior Health Centers since 1997. Dr. Cain received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1985 and his medical doctorate from the Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago in 1990. He served his internal medicine residency at Boston City Hospitals, his residency in internal medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago and his geriatric fellowship at the Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Cain is board certified in internal medicine and geriatrics and is a member of the American Geriatric Society. Dr. Cain also serves on the Primary Physician Partner IPA board.

Steven A. Singer, MD

Steven A. Singer, MD

BOARD VICE CHAIRMAN

Dr. Singer has served on the PHP Board of Directors since 2008 and is also a member of the South Metro Primary Care IPA board. He has more than 24 years of medical experience and has been a family practice physician at the Family Medicine Clinic in the southwest Denver metro area since 1991. Dr. Singer received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Southern California at Santa Barbara and his medical degree from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency in family medicine at the University of California at San Diego.

S. Michael Archer, MD

S. Michael Archer, MD

Dr. Archer has been on the PHP Board of Directors since 1996 and also serves as the Chairmen of the Primary Physician Partners IPA Board. He has more than 38 years of medical experience as a family practice physician. He has been in practice at Complete Family Medicine in Westminster, CO since 1981. Dr. Archer attended the University of Colorado Medical Center for his medical degree. He is board certified in family practice and in clinical densitometry.

Jeffrey S. Cross, MD, FACS, FRCSEd

Jeffrey S. Cross, MD, FACS, FRCSEd

Dr. Cross has been on the PHP Board of Directors since 2010. He is a general surgeon with subspecialties in thoracic, advanced laparoscopic and gastric stimulation surgery and has been practicing in the Denver area since 1994. Dr. Cross received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, and his medical degree from the Dartmouth-Brown Program in Medicine. Dr. Cross was resident and chief resident at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He completed a fellowship in thoracic surgery at Liverpool, England and a research fellowship in trauma and endocrinology at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI.

Jeff Amundson, MD

Jeff Amundson, MD

Dr. Amundson is the newest member of the PHP board. He has been a practicing family physician in Lakewood since 1998 and has been affiliated with PHP this entire period. He earned his undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his medical degree from the Mayo Medical School. After this he did his residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. He is also a member of the board of directors for two PHP managed IPAs, both PPP and PHP Prime.

Matt Lewis, MD

Matt Lewis, MD

Dr. Lewis has participated in the PHP Board of Directors since 2010 and was President of the Board for former PHP IPA, KEY. He is a family practice physician and has been at Mile High Primary Care in Centennial, CO since 1998. Dr. Lewis attended North Park University in Chicago for undergraduate studies and then attended the University of Connecticut for his medical degree. He completed his residency at St. Anthony's Family Medicine. Leadership positions include Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine in the University of Colorado department of Family Medicine; Medical ExecutiveCommittee at the Medical Center of Aurora; President of the Denver Christian Medical and Dental Association.

James Martau, MD

James Martau, MD

Dr. Martau joined the PHP Board of Directors in 2014 and has been a member of the Primary Physician Partners IPA since 2000. He is a practicing geriatrician at St. Anthony Hospitals Senior Health Centers in Westminster, CO. Dr. Martau holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Bucknell University, a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and a doctor of medicine degree from The Ohio State University. He completed his internal medicine residency at Akron City Hospital and his geriatric fellowship at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Michael J. Ptasnik, MD

Michael J. Ptasnik, MD

Dr. Ptasnik has served on the PHP Board of Directors since 2004 and has been involved with PHP since its inception. He has more than 30 years of medical experience and is a practicing cardiologist in the Denver metro area. Dr. Ptasnik attended Wayne State University for his undergraduate degree and then completed his medical degree at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Susan J. Robertson, MD

Susan J. Robertson, MD

Dr. Robertson has served on the PHP Board of Directors since 2010 and has been affiliated with PHP since its inception. She has been in family practice, including obstetrics, at Broomfield Family Practice for 22 years. Dr. Robertson graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in biology and went on to attend Duke University Medical School to receive her medical degree. She also serves on the Primary Physician Partners IPA board.

Gerald Brown, MD

Gerald Brown, MD

Dr. Brown has been on the PHP Board of Directors since 2013. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and has practiced at Internal Medicine Southwest since 1989. He worked at the Littleton Medical Center from 1976 to 1988. Dr. Brown received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign in 1969 and his medical doctorate from the University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago in 1973. He served his residency at University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. Dr. Brown serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Medical School. Dr. Brown is a past President of the Swedish Medical Center Medical Staff and past Board member of HealthOne. Dr. Brown has been President of South Metro Primary Care since its inception in 2008.
